HWDMediaShare allows you to create Joomla menu links which points directly to the media gallery. This article explains how to use the Joomla menu manager to achieve this.

This documentation is written for Joomla 3, and refers to the HWDMediaShare v2.

The HWDMediaShare Menu

When you install HWDMediaShare, a new menu called "HWDMediaShare Menu" will be created automatically in your Joomla menu manager. It will contain links to the main pages in the gallery such as the main media page. You can use, modify and display this menu in your Joomla site like any other Joomla menu. However, you can also create new menu links to HWDMediaShare content in other Joomla menus, such as your Main menu.

Using the Joomla Menu Manager

To create a menu link to HWDMediaShare, visit the Joomla menu manager, and select the Add New Menu Item option for the Main Menu (or the menu you want to add the link to).

You will then be taken to the New Menu Item page, where you can click on the Select button and choose the type of menu you want to create.

You will see a list of all the components that are installed in your Joomla website, and you can select the HWDMediaShare option to expand the tab and view all the available HWDMediaShare menu types.

There are numerous menu types available in HWDMediaShare:

To create a menu link to the page media page (which displays a list of all the media in the gallery) then choose the "Media" type.

You will be returned to the New Menu Item page where you can now enter your menu title, and configure any other menu specific parameters. Once you have reviewed the other options in the page, you can click the Save button to save your new single media menu item.
