The HWDMediaShare team can now announce the eagerly anticipated launch of our Wordpress development. There has been a lot of buzz around this on twitter and following our Drupal launch last week, today sees the HWD YouTube videoBox for Wordpress make its grand entrance. We have just published our Wordpress demo site and the YouTube videoBox can be tested there now.

We have recently developed our first audioBox module which is for SoundCloud! This module is a great solution for quickly and easily adding high quality media content to any Joomla site. You can insert audio tracks from a user or insert a single specific track.

This module has been released and is currently on early access for everyone on our Developer plan. You can see a working example of the module below.

Podcasts are not simply limited to radio show, music files. Podcasts can be a cheap and useful media outlet for any industry. Anyone who has something to say with the energy and conviction to say it can create a podcast and publish it on the World Wide Web. As a simple definition, a podcast is a multimedia digital file which can be downloaded from the internet onto a portable device such as a tablet, music player or phone. Due to its multi-platform nature, podcasts are predicted to be a big trend in 2013, as businesses find new and engaging ways to connect with consumers.

The HWDMediaShare team are pleased to announced that we have launched our first Drupal application. We have just published our Drupal demo site and our first module, the Drupal version of our YouTube videoBox.

There are a variety of commenting solutions available for HWDMediaShare which offer different benefits and advantages. We will discuss these in the following blog post, but the decision on which one to use is up to you.

UpdateWe are happy to announce that HWDMediaShare 1.1.6 has been released.

The release includes new features such as improved Amazon S3 CDN plugin to support cloudfront distributions (both HTTP download distributions and RTMP streaming distributions).

We have tweaked the slideshow feature in the gallery to improve the media scrolling.

AndanaTV is a video website which reports events and stories about Pedroches Valley in Spain. We really liked the look and feel of their site, which has been integrated very nicely with HWDMediaShare. It is also a great example of HWDMediaShare in a language other than English, and for that reason we felt it was worth sharing.

In HWDMediaShare we offer browser support for pdf, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx files. This means that you can view these in the browser within HWDMediaShare rather than being directed away or having to download the document.

Thrasher Magazine

This week we take a look back at our old software HWDVideoShare. Why? Well it was recently brought to our attention that a major magazine was using HWDVideoShare and we were thrilled with both this and the knowledge that it is still being used so effectively. I'm sure you've already guessed that the magazine I'm talking about is... Thrasher Magazine.

In the release of HWDMediaShare 1.1.5 we updated the component to include an important new feature that has been in the pipeline for a long time. This is related to the navigation of the site and slideshow, and more specifically when viewing a media item from a category, playlist, album or group.
