Joomla! Day UK 2013 was a great Joomla! event. The conference ran over the weekend of the 5-6 October in Ascot, near London. HWDMediaShare was very proud to sponsor the Developer stream for the weekend, and we would like to extend our thanks to Jodee Peevor, Ruth Cheesley and all the rest of the Joomla! Day UK team for all their hard work.

My personal highlight from the weekend included, as always, meeting new members of the Joomla! community and finding out how and why people use the Joomla! CMS. A special mention to fellow UK climber Drew HaighPaul Orwig, the president of Open Source Matters, provided a warm and clear overview of the Joomla leadership during his sessions. The keynote session from Sander Potjer, entitled My Joomla Story, gave an inspiring overview of how to get more involved with Joomla!

Another session which I found particularly interesting was David Amanshia's talk on continuous delivery. I find it fascinating to learn about people who are using Joomla! for reasons completely different to myself. Then hearing about problems they encounter and the solutions they develop to make their lives simpler.

Seeing old friends such as Joe Palmer provided a great opportunity to catch up, and discuss how the development and changes within Joomla! have affected us and the way we work.

I took three sessions over the weekend discussing a broad range of topics. We will be posting more blogs about this over future weeks.
