Lots of new features and a few bug fixes for core component

Update to hwdVideoShare-1.1.4 Alpha RC2.12 for lots of new features and bug fixes. The main new features are the options added to the administrator to disable video player information options. You can also disable each individual user navigation link.

The frontend pagination problems have also been resolved.

Important Update for Core Component

This is our first update for a couple of weeks. There has been much to do recently and we now have a lot of development time scheduled for the next few weeks. This is the first update of this period. This new update, hwdVideoShare-1.1.4 Alpha RC2.11 includes the bug fix for problems concerning Comments and Rating display. It should also fix a number of other issue highlighted in the forums over the past couple of weeks. There are also a few new features that should help. These new features include a new "Reset Failed Conversions" button that will make debugging much easier. See the changelog for all bugfixes and features.

This update does not include some features have been heavily requested (Most notably the pagination problem in the frontend and the backend). As stated above, we expect to release updates almost daily over the next few weeks.

New Update to Core Component for hwdVideoShare

The newest update for the core component has been published today. Upgrade now to hwdVideoShare-1.1.4 Alpha RC2.10. This has a number of bug fixes and new features.

DailyMotion, MegaVideo and Veoh plugins available

Third party plugins for DailyMotion, MegaVideo and Veoh are now available. These plugins have been requested by a number of users so we hope they will be popular. They are new and may contain bugs. This especially applies to the MegaVideo plugin when retrieving the video thumbnails - if you experience problems with any plugins please report in the forum so they can be fixed as quickly as possible.

Documentation Updated

The full documentation that refers to the installation guide for MENCODER, FFMPEG and FLVTOOL2 has been updated. We now have a step-by-step guide that will take you through a full server install. This starts with SVN and RUBY and moves onto the necessary codecs for all popular video format support. This includes AMR for 3gp support and FAAD2 for MOV support.

Important Security Update

The core component has been updated and the modifications include an important security update for the core third party plugins. Upgrade to hwdVideoShare-1.1.4 Alpha RC2.9. This update includes the core plugins that function correctly with the new CURL function option.

Core third party plugins upgrades with CURL function

The new upgrade hwdVideoShare-1.1.4 Alpha RC2.8 now has an option to use the CURL function when extracting information about third party videos. This will hopefully remove the errors that some people have been experiencing:

The Core Third Party plugins that are distributed with the core component (YouTube and GoogleVideo) have been updated to use this new feature. The other third party plugins will be updated accordingly over the coming days. News regarding these upgrades will be posted on the Highwood Design website.
