Installing the HWDMediaShare Addon Pack

The HWDMediaShare Addon pack is a single Joomla package which installs all our modules and plugins with one simple installation process. This makes maintaining and upgrading HWDMediaShare extremely easy.

Installing the HWDMediaShare Addon pack is no different than installing any other Joomla!™ extension on your site. You can find the official Joomla!™ instructions for installing extensions on the official help page.

Getting the official HWDMediaShare Addon package:

You can obtain the latest release of the HWDMediaShare Addon pack by visiting http://www.hwdmediashare.co.uk. Just log in via the "Account" menu item, then click the "Your Downloads" tab. Proceed to download the latest HWDMediaShare Addon installation zip file.

Attention Mac OS X users! The Safari browser automatically extracts the ZIP file into a directory and then removes the ZIP file needed for a Joomla!™ install. To install the extension in Joomla!™ you must select that directory, right-click on it, then select "Compress" to yield a ZIP file as required by the Joomla!™ installer.

Installing the Addon pack

After you have downloaded the package, you must then login to the Joomla™ Administrator area of your website. To access this area, enter the url in your browser as: http://www.yoursite.com/administrator/. Replace "yoursite.com" with your actual domain name. Enter your Administrator Username and Password, then click the "Login" button to proceed.
Once logged in, move your mouse pointer to the "Extensions" menu item at the top, then click the "Extension Manager" item.
Next, click on the "Choose File" button located under the "Upload Package File" area.
You will now be presented with a local file browser. This window allows you to browse your computer. Locate the zip file you've downloaded. Now click on the zip file to highlight it, then click the "Open" button in this window.
You should now notice that the "No file chosen" dialogue in the cell next to the "Choose File" button has been replaced with the location of the zip file selected in step 4. Click the "Upload And Install" button to install the HWDMediaShare Addon pack!
If the installation was a success you will be presented with the dialogue, "Installing package was successful" in a blue bar and your Administration screen.
That's it! The HWDMediaSHare Addon pack is now installed on your Joomla™ website.

Great video extension

Installed easily on Joomla 1.7 and was easy to implement. Other video extensions I tried didn't have the features found in hwdvideoshare. There is great documentation for helping with setup and hosting.
