Firefox doesn't load swf's in new HWD 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hey Davros, emm Firefox doesn't load swf's which is kinda worrying me cause most of my subscribed members use Firefox, However i do have the lochness template loaded but i assure you i get the same error when viewing swf's in the default template of firefox 3.0. Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug, cause it loads fine on IE7 and 6 however the templates of the new version of HWD gets distorted.

Do the SWF files load at all? Or are they just skewed?

Try disabling the SWFObject Javascript in the General Settings under the Settings tab

Try switching the settings so SWF files are played independently and in a video player. (That option is also under the settings tab, towards the bottom.)

And it is only in FF? Which version of FF are you using?

Thank you for reporting this bug. It has been added to our list for investigation and will definitely be addressed. If I need more details I will contact you privately. Please keep an eye on the Changlog for more information regarding a fix for this issue.

Well i'm using FireFox 3.0 but take a look at my animation section (where HWD is located) www.FunnyStash.com i mean none of it looks good really, the players borders don't match the sides and it doesn't detect community builder when i give the config my CB's ID. I would also like to get rid of the related videos box also below the player because it makes my pages looks nasty with wrong size dimensions, how would i disable the related videos box cause i can't see it. If you would like to tinker around my server i'll give the you a wonka pass

The last version of HWD worked for me 1st time round when i told it what i wanted, so it's not like i'm new to all this HWD stuff. It's just not doing what i want this time round, Do you think HWD is reading my previous installment of HWD which is making the design all screwey.

I've looked but am getting this message when viewing videos:
Please enable Java Script in your browser or use a different browser to view this video. You might also need to update your flash player.

I've looked at your source code and this is a MooTools conflict (multiple versions loaded by your template and other extensions). Anyway, you can remove this conflict in the General Settings under the "Settings" tab. You need to switch off the MooTools in hwdVideoShare... failing that... switch of swfobject.js instead.

Anyway, other than that the display actually looked ok. If you were using an old template - this could have caused a skewed display when you upgraded.

If you can't get things sorted and want me to have a look please pass on your server access details again. Also include an URL to an example video that is screwed up.

Yeah thanks for answering for what might have sounded like a stupid question I've got that working now however i cannot find anywhere in the backend how to disable the related videos section while viewing videos, is it called something else cause i cannot find and disable it. It looks okay in Firefox 3.0 but not with IE7, but even if it did look good i would still want to disable it so Jom Comment is visible. And Community Builder works on the front of the page but not inside the video page information

I attched a picture below to show you my concerns

You can edit the template file and remove the related videos panel.

Open and edit this file:
JoomlaRoot/components/com_hwdvideoshare/core/templates/video_player.tpl

This generates the layout for the video player page. You should be able to find the code:<h2>Related</h2>This is the section for the related videos panel. Just delete it. (Or move it below the commenting system...).

We will add the user information onto the video player page in the next release...
